Biography
Engr. Gentile Valter was born in Avezzano, Italy, in 1972, embarking on a distinguished lifelong journey in civil and structural engineering. His foundational years were rooted in a rigorous technical education, commencing with a Diploma as an Experimental Surveyor (Geometra) from the School of Experimental Surveying in Avezzano. This advanced program provided him with a robust, hands-on understanding of civil construction and bridge design—a practical foundation that would later distinguish his engineering approach. During this formative period, he cultivated his early professional acumen by working directly alongside the distinguished Professor Franco Braga, a leading structural engineer and esteemed professor at the University of Sapienza of Rome. This invaluable mentorship bridged the gap between practical site execution and advanced structural theory. Driven by a passion for structural mechanics, Engr. Valter advanced his academic pursuits, earning a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering from the prestigious Sapienza University of Rome. This advanced degree equipped him with a mastery of finite element method (FEM) analysis, seismic design, and geotechnical engineering, laying the theoretical groundwork for his future leadership in mega-infrastructure. In 2006, he was officially accredited as a Chartered Engineer, registered with the Ordine degli Ingegneri di Roma (Order of Engineers of Rome) and Eurogroup Engineers. To further fortify his executive and technical acumen, he pursued advanced executive training at the Enrico Fermi Institute, GVME, and LGConstruction. This specialized education focused on complex structural dynamics, project management for mega-structures, and advanced construction methodologies, ensuring he remains at the forefront of industry innovation. Today, Engr. Valter is a globally recognized figure in the engineering community. He is an active and esteemed member of several renowned professional organizations, including EuroGroup Engineering, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and IABS.
